here is a story i found, i went through my computer like crazy to find it, i made it when i was 8! i did not proof read or anyhting their might be typos but read i think its good@
Two beautiful girls named Emma and Clarese were rich and had a vacation cabin in Helen, Georgia. At this time of the year Georgia was chilly and had wonderful leaves that were shades of red, orange, yellow, brown and green. Emma was six years old and she had smoky olive green eyes and brown hair that glistened in the sun. Emma wore glasses with a radiant orange frame, and orange sundress and orange jelly flip-flops. Emma also has a 16K diamond bracelet that her mother had given to her when she was five. On the other hand Clarese was fifteen and had blonde hair with blue-green eyes. Clarese also had the match of Emma’s bracelet her mother had also given it to her when she was five. The two sisters have lots of arguments, but after one day Clarese knew not to take Emma for granted …
One crisp chilly morning, Emma was going to play at Natalie’s house. Natalie was Emma’s best friend and she was also six. She had long black hair and brown eyes, and had been friends since they were three. Together they wanted to go get some shakes at the mini market that was located on the other side of the forest. On their way there, they got distracted and started to play hide and go seek. Then all of a sudden Emma vanished. Natalie was so scared that she would get into trouble, but instead of worrying about the situation she ran to Emma’s house in search of Clarese. When Natalie tried to explain the incident, Clarese did not believe her because Emma and her had always played pranks on her. But somehow she got Clarese to follow her.
After a while they reached the forest.
“She hid behind this tree!” Natalie exclaimed to Clarese.
Clarese carefully examined the tree and saw Emma’s bracelet draped over a branch of a tree. Clarese put the clue in her bag and looked around for a suspect, sure enough there was a little old lady sitting on a nearby bench feeding the birds, she had on a red hat and a purple dress, she also wore a membership card from the Red Hat Society. She looked like no crook, but at that point anyone was a suspect even if they look innocent or not.
Then they looked around and saw a trail of footprints. They girls followed the trail very cautiously looking at each print individually. Then all of a sudden the girls stopped dead in their tracks surprised to see a run down factory. The factory door was open so they peeked inside. They saw a factory worker inspecting the machines. He wore a cream ragged old shirt and some ripped overalls. He had brown hair, green eyes and a bushy mustache. Then the girls looked down and saw Emma’s orange flip-flop. SPLASH!
The girls were headed towards the lake, only to see Emma’s glasses but someone had punched out the lenses. Then SPLASH, they looked around and there was a man fishing, he was struggling to keep a fish on his hook. Then Natalie tripped over a thread, it was the same shade of orange as Emma’s orange sundress. So the girls followed it to a cottage with a small chimney and an overgrown garden hiding the front door. Near the door there was a mat that stated WELCOME.
Inside the cottage the girls saw Emma tied up in rags. They untied the rags and asked why Emma left.
“I left because a man asked me if I wanted a puppy. I knew it was a trap but I went anyways because me and you always argue, so I thought if I left you would not care.” Emma replied to Clarese.
Well we better go, he might come back soon.” Said Clarese. The girls used the phone in the cottage to call the police. A policeman named Fred said he politely told the girls to go downtown, he would be there with the criminal.
The girls got a ride downtown from Natalie’s mother. They saw the officer and the criminal. He told us the criminals name was Tom. The girls told the officer about the clues they found and the suspects they saw. The officer looked at Tom who admitted that he had planted the clues to frame other people, but all the suspects were Tom in disguises, the only reason he wanted to kidnap Emma was because of her valuable bracelet. The officer had no choice but to put him in jail for twelve years. Then the officer apologized for all the trouble. The girls graciously took the apology and repaid his kindness with a trip to the tropical Florida Keys.
“Hey Emma want to go play?” asked Natalie.
“Yes but we will stick together right?” replied Emma.
“Yea remember what happened the last time, that’s the last thing we need” exclaimed Clarese.
Since that day the two sisters had a long lasting alliance that would last a lifetime.
THE END
Here is another one of my stories! for dare in fifth grade
During this year we all have learned about the D.A.R.E. Program. I have learned a lot from these lessons. During my D.A.R.E. report I will cover things from peer pressure, alcohol and drugs and also about how and why D.A.R.E. impacted me.
One thing I learned in D.A.R.E. is about peer pressure, what is peer pressure? Well peer pressure is when someone pressures you to do something weather it bad or good. First there are many kinds of peer pressure. When we think about peer pressure we mainly think of it as a bad thing, but there is a kind that is not bad. Positive peer pressure is when a friend is pressuring you to do something good, such as join the schools sports team. Another type is negative peer pressure, it is when someone pressures you into doing something bad like smoking a cigarette. The type of pressure you want to avoid is negative peer pressure. If for any reason you happen to be in a negative peer pressure situation you could walk away or you could ignore the person who is pressuring you. If you don’t want to get in a bad situation try to avoid places where there are gangs, smokers or drinkers.
Another thing I learned about is drugs and alcohol, these harmful things not only hurt yourself but other people. If you are drinking and driving you could hurt yourself, other drivers, pedestrians or other family members if they are in the car with you. If you are using drugs (that are not prescribed by your doctor) you could hurt yourself, family or other people if they are involved in the situation in which you are using drugs. If you plan to live a healthy lifestyle you shouldn’t use drugs because smoking causes breathing problems. Smokers have more colds and upper respiratory problems and smoking also causes heart disease and is the most common cause of lung cancer tobacco also affects your body’s development. Alcohol can cause loss of coordination, slow reflexes, loss of self-control, poor judgment, memory lapses and slurred speech. How to get out of harmful situations can be easy if you know how to avoid it, you could just say No, give them a reason for saying no such as “No thanks my mom would ground me for life.” You could change the subject, or you could try using some humor in the situation, like if someone asks you to smoke say “No. I need all my brain cells.” No matter what you use to say No just make sure you say it calm and clear and don’t be rude about it.
My last paragraph is all about how D.A.R.E. impacted me. D.A.R.E. taught me lots of things that I will use throughout my life. I defiantly think we should keep the D.A.R.E. program at our school, because it teaches kids about how drugs, alcohol and peer pressure affect your life and how to avoid it, the right things to say, who to tell if you are in a bad situation and so on. I think it is important to keep drug-free and avoid violence because if you are in a bad situation that can hurt you, keep in mind you can hurt a lot of other people while you are drinking or using drugs or doing something dangerous.
In conclusion D.A.R.E. is a great program that helped me understand the importance of keeping drug-free and avoid violence. That is why in my report I wrote about peer pressure, drugs and alcohol, and what D.A.R.E. means to me.
My Pledge Statement is to make wise decisions about alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs.
